In 2023, the department established the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization Committee (EDIDC), with a primary focus on fostering an all-encompassing and accessible environment that embraces individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Women, Visible Minorities, Indigenous Peoples, Persons with Disabilities, Individuals with Low Socioeconomic Status, and LGBTQ2S+ Individuals.
